Wrestling Q & A with Jayden Potok and Jackson Dougherty

Q: What weight class will you be wrestling this year?

Potok: I am wrestling 175.

Dougherty: I am wrestling 190.

 

Q: What are you most excited about this year?

Potok: Adding two really good guys to the team with Jackson Dougherty and Ian Bee.

Dougherty: I am excited to be on a new team.

 

Q: What are your goals for this wrestling season?

Potok: State place hopefully top 3.

Dougherty: State champ

 

Q: How long have you been wrestling?

Potok: I have been wrestling for around 12 years.

Dougherty: I have been wrestling since kindergarten.

 

Q: What’s your favorite memory of wrestling?

Potok: Qualifying for the state tournament last year

Dougherty: Going to different states to wrestle

 

Q: Who do you look up to for wrestling?

Potok: My older brothers both wrestled in college. They are both big influencers to my wrestling career.

Dougherty: Probably Bo Nickal. I watch a lot of his matches.

 

Q: Why do you wrestle?

Potok: It’s in my family my dad, uncles, cousins, and brothers all wrestled.

Dougherty: I think it makes me better in other sports.

 

Q: Will you be continuing your wrestling career after high school?

Potok: Yeah I will be wrestling in college.

Dougherty: Probably not but we will see.
