The Blue Devil Cafe has released a new drink in order to promote the upcoming fall play that is opening tonight. The play is a satirical take on the incredibly popular Harry Potter series called Puffs. The drink is called a Butterbrew Frap, and it has proven to be popular among Tallmade students. Here is an interview about the drink with teacher Tammie Habbyshaw.
Q: How would you describe the flavor of a Butterbrew Frap?
A: It is a creamy, caramel and toffee nut flavored cold drink.
Q: What sorts of ingredients go into the butterbrew frap?
A: That’s a secret!
Q: Is there any sort of special touch given to the butterbrew frap?
A: Yes-the students top each drink with whip cream, butterscotch syrup and magical Harry Potter crystals!
Q: How do you think it’s performing compared to other drinks from the blue devil cafe? Is it a hit with students?
A: It is a pretty popular drink right now, but the Caramel Frap will always be the top seller. It’s a timeless classic in the Blue Devil Cafe.
Q: Is the butterbrew frap only available for a limited time, or may it be added to the menu permanently?
A: Yes, only for a limited time as it doesn’t fit in with our typical dietary requirements.
Q: Are you excited for the upcoming play?
A: Yes, I know there are many teachers and students excited about going. I will be there on Friday for sure!
Q: Is this an official collaboration between the blue devil cafe and the theater department? If so, would you consider doing so again in the future?
A: Yes, Mrs. Charek came up with the idea and Mr. Obney and his TACA students helped us with advertising, naming the drink and taste testing. It was a really fun collaboration for the students. They enjoy that customers like the drink. We also have Harry Potter stickers on the cups for a fun touch. We would love to collaborate with anyone else that is interested.
