With the start of a new football season for Tallmadge High School comes the excitement and thrill of Friday Night Lights. Players are battling it out on the field, and students cheer for their teams and come out to the games every Friday night. For the 2024-25 season, Tallmadge welcomes back senior Bryan Rearick to the spotlight as he makes his return to his hometown, earning himself a starting spot and captain title.
Rearick expressed his appreciation and love for his teammates on the field.
“I think the team culture is really strong right now. Everyone just kind of carries each other and picks each other up, and we’re ready to get a win every week,” Rearick said.
In addition, Rearick displayed a strong appreciation for the game of football and reminisced about his younger days playing the game.
“I’ve been playing football since [Tallmadge Youth Football], I’d say around sixth grade, so it’s nice to be back,” Rearick said.
Rearick had transferred to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School at the beginning of his freshman year and played football there up until his junior year when he officially moved back to his hometown of Tallmadge.
“You know I grew up with everybody here, and it’s nice to be playing with my brothers. I saw an opportunity to come back and be a part of something special,” Rearick said.
Playing in his first couple of games for Tallmadge High School, Rearick contributed heavily and has been an even more impressive teammate and leader despite it being his first year back. In the weeks following Rearick’s first two games back on Tallmadge’s Varsity roster, he has continued to be vocal and active on the team. Rearick has also been a positive energy throughout the school and a hype man, getting people excited about attending football games on Friday nights.
Captain Roman Rinaldi said, “Bryan Rearick is a great guy and a super hard worker.”
