Christian Andrico, Staff Writer

Wrestling Experience:

Tallmadge High School’s new wrestling coach is Jeremy Clarke. Coach Clarke has been interested in wrestling since he was young, starting at the age of seven. Coach Clarke started coaching wrestling in 2013 at Twinsburg High School.  After that he coached at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School (NDCL) from 2014 to 2020.

Reason for Joining Tallmadge:

Coach Clarke said he joined Tallmadge because they were looking to revive the program of wrestling and he would bring in a new sense of youth and exuberance that would change the culture at Tallmadge.

What to Expect:

Coach Clarke said, “I think the wrestlers will enjoy this upcoming season. Obviously due to COVID-19, the circumstances are very different and things can change at a moment’s notice but I feel they would like the new direction the program will be heading.”

Coach Clarke said he expects his athletes to get it done in the classroom first while being competitive on the mat. He also said that everything his team does will be with “maximum effort”.

Feelings About This Season:

“I feel this year’s team will be competitive. I expect us to give ourselves but the best opportunity to win, let alone compete, by doing all we can for as long as we can,” Coach Clarke said.
