For the second year in a row, Tallmadge City Schools is providing a Thanksgiving lunch to students and staff.  The Thanksgiving meals will be handed out Nov. 23 for Blue students on the hybrid schedule and Nov. 24 for Gold students on the hybrid schedule.

“Students will pick up a Thanksgiving boxed lunch and eat in their academy–like we are eating lunches now,” assistant principal Jen Stewart said.

To get a meal, students and staff should have filled out the form before Nov. 2 in an email that was sent out Oct. 22..Online students who filled out the form will get a meal as well and pick it up from 12-1 p.m.Nov. 23.

“A little bit over 400 ended up ordering and we prepared for around 500. About 30 online kids ordered,” Stewart said.

The meal is paid for by the normal lunch fund. The meal includes all the standard items: turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, roll, and pumpkin or apple pie. Options for those with dietary restrictions were also available.

Stewart said, “We are excited to be able to have this event again.”
