Tallmadge City Schools announced that they have partnered with Akron Children’s Hospital to provide Tallmadge students with the COVID-19 vaccine. The clinic, which will be held at Tallmadge High School, will administer the Pfizer vaccine to students on Wednesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 15.

Students will receive the vaccine on the day they are scheduled to attend school in-person. Students on the BLUE schedule will receive the vaccine on Wednesday. Students on the GOLD schedule will receive the vaccine on Thursday,” Superintendent Steve Wood said.

Students who want to receive the vaccine must fill out a consent form, and those students who are under the age of eighteen must have the consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Consent forms must be turned in on Monday, April 12 or Tuesday, April 13 during the academic day, or scanned and emailed to [email protected] by no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13..

“In order to ensure an accurate count for the hospital, the registration deadline is firm. Akron Children’s Hospital cannot accept late entries,” Wood said.

Students will be called down to the gymnasium periodically throughout their school day in order to receive their vaccine. Per hospital requirements, students must provide a photo ID and wear a short-sleeved shirt.

“We thank Akron Children’s Hospital for making this opportunity available to our community,” Wood said.
