Court shares experience of representing class

Three Homecoming Court members share what they feel about their experience being elected to court.

Senior Maya Dexter

Q: How are you feeling about being on homecoming court?
A: I think it’s pretty exciting. I have never been on it before so it will be fun. 

Q: What homecoming week events are you most excited about?

A: I am the most excited for the Powder Puff game. I am excited about my senior year dance and the Hoco game on Friday.

Q: What does being homecoming king/queen mean to you?
A: I think it would be pretty cool to be queen.

Q: How are you feeling about being on homecoming court?

A: I am very excited to be on homecoming court because it is such a big honor to be on and it is really fun to be involved with all of the homecoming events.

Q: Is there anything you are doing to prepare or influence the votes in your favor? 

A: There really isn’t anything I am doing to influence the votes in my favor. I will be happy for whoever wins.

Q: Have you ever been on homecoming court? If so how has this year been different?

A: Yes, I was on it last year. It is different this year because there is more than one couple from my grade on court this year and we all have a shot at getting King and Queen.

Q: Why do you think you should be homecoming king/queen?

A: I think it would be really fun to get homecoming queen because it would be cool to be Queen Marley Queen.

Q: How important is being homecoming king/queen to you?
A: Being homecoming queen is not very important to me, I am just happy to be on court.

Q: What homecoming week events are you most excited about?

A: I am most excited for Powder Puff and walking on the field at halftime during the football game.

Q: What does being homecoming king/queen mean to you?

A: Homecoming Queen is a good way to represent our class and being Queen is really an awesome thing you can get because it does not happen to a lot of people.

Q:How are you feeling about being on homecoming court?

A: I’m so excited! It is such an honor to represent my class.

Q: Have you ever been on homecoming court? If so, how has this year been different?

A: I have never been on court before, so I am very excited to experience all of the activities as a court member.

Q:Why do you think you should be homecoming king/queen?

A: I think I deserve being queen just as much as all of the other girls. Each one of us are kind, involved, and hard working. Female court this year is incredible, and I will be happy no matter who wins!

Q: How important is being homecoming king/queen to you?
A: Winning queen would be such an honor because it shows my school’s support, respect, and appreciation for me.

Q: What homecoming week events are you most excited about?

A: My favorite event is always Powder Puff, but I’m very excited for the parade and getting to ride in the convertible as a court member! I think it was such an awesome experience!!

Q: What does being homecoming king/queen mean to you?

A: Homecoming queen to me means being a leader and recognized for your hard work, kindness, and the school’s respect for you. It is one of the biggest honors in a high school career.
