Q: Did you hear that the Board Of Education said that they would talk about the Health and PE curriculum?
A: I have not heard a word about it.
Q: What would you add or change about the current curriculum if you had control?
A: I don’t really think they can make a whole lot of changes but as far as curriculum we do meet as a PE department to go over how our curriculum goes from K-12 and how it meets the standards.
Q: Have any major changes ever occurred to the curriculum before?
A: Not really we can add games and activities as we feel fit, the standards for PE are very fluid.
Q: Does the district-wide PE meeting have anything to do with the Board Of Education meeting about the PE curriculum?
A: The meeting is scheduled and has nothing to do with the Board Of Education meeting. We meet twice a year and this is our first meeting of this year.
Q: Do you think whatever the Board Of Education does is going to affect Health more than it affects PE?
A: Health and PE are pretty tied together, freshmen PE is 9 weeks and Health PE is the other 9 weeks and the other classes are full semester courses. If they want to change and add things they are going to have to add teachers and we both know they don’t want that.
